Michael Jones

As we announced last month, updates to eBay’s seller performance standards are coming with the August 20 monthly seller evaluation. These updates have been designed to reward sellers who provide great service with more visibility and more potential sales.

We want to help make your transition to these new standards as smooth as possible, including making sure you have access to the tools and information you need to succeed. That’s why I’m excited to tell you about two exciting new resources, available now in your seller dashboard, aimed at giving you a quick, clear read on where you stand under the new standards—including detailed insight into your transactions.

Starting today, you can preview your projected performance level and defect rate under the new performance standards directly from your seller dashboard, including a snapshot of:

  • Your projected seller status
  • Your current defect rate
  • A breakdown of the defects that may be impacting your status
  • Where you stand toward Top Rated Seller requirements

Plus, you can now run a detailed report from your seller dashboard showing transactions that contain defects as defined in the new performance standards. Updated each week, this report includes:

  • Transaction and item ID numbers
  • Specific defects associated with each transaction, including opened cases, returns for item not as described, negative and neutral feedback, and seller-cancelled transactions
  • Plus, starting in late April, you’ll be able to see which of your transactions from that point on receive low detailed seller ratings for item description and shipping time

These two resources can provide you with the insight you need to understand how you’re performing, pinpoint problem areas, and make any adjustments necessary to continue to deliver the services that make your listings stand out and sell.

Get details on the new performance standards—including recently updated best practices and frequently asked questions.

Check out the eBay for Business blog for some great tips on how to use your seller dashboard preview and transaction defect report to prepare for the new seller performance standards.

And be sure to register for our upcoming free webinar, “Getting the most from your seller dashboard,” broadcasting live on April 23 at 11:00 am PDT.

Sincerely,

Michael Jones
